The Daily Guar: Issue #6

Newspapers Now Outnumber Residents, Experts Confirm:
Our top story today follows the recent outbreak of newspapers that has inundated Resdayn’s citizens with probably far too much to read. Experts confirmed Sunday that the number of newspapers now, in all probability, outnumbers the very readership they’re competing for. As one of our experts explained it, given the number of citizens in Resdayn, and then given the number of residents that actually read newspapers in that population, the average newspaper in Resdayn is sharing the exact same single-digit readership of every other newspaper in Resdayn. With the projected growth of newspapers in Resdayn expected to hit double-digits soon, readers will be forced to narrow the number of newspapers they read in order to keep up, and overall readership is sure to fall. If ever Resdayn has faced a crisis, truly this is the greatest one of all.

Is Government Confusing? Eight out of Ten Residents Say Yes:
A shocking new study out of the Statisticians Journal of Statics on Saturday revealed that only two out of ten residents of Resdayn understand anything about the country’s government. Repeatedly, citizens of Resdayn failed to understand the differences between the Narsis City Council and the Hlaalu Council, despite the fact that the former is a local branch of government that oversees the capital and the latter is the head of the national government that oversees all of Resdayn. When asked what issues each Council should be most concerned with, the majority of respondents assumed that they should both work on major problems facing Resdayn, such as the economy, job creation, and criminal punishment. Experts suggest the confusion with the Councils may, in fact, be related to the term ‘Counil’ that both government branches share. The average citizen is like to elevate the Narsis City Council to the same level as the Hlaalu Council, despite being a less important political body, simply because it’s called a ‘Council’. As of press time, some of the confusion over government bodies had been alleviated, leaving only around seven in ten residents utterly baffled.

Narsis Expanding with New Planned Districts:
The capital city of Resdayn is once again expanding its borders, with three new districts planned. Areas have been marked off in East Narsis, North Narsis and West Narsis for the future districts, and construction is planned to begin as soon as a contractor can be hired for the job. Interested parties can purchase a district to build through the Resdayn Administration, and prices range from a low of $20000 in the east, to a high of $30000 in the west.
